If you’ve never made chocolate alcoholic shots, don’t worry! Below are some common questions and helpful tips.
Hopefully, this will answer any questions you may have. If not, feel free to ask in the comments and I’ll answer the best I can.
HOW LONG DOES IT REALLY TAKE TO MAKE THIN MINT SHOOTERS?
This fun alcoholic shot can be assembled fast. This Thin Mint Shooter recipe takes approximately 14 minutes. TOTAL.
This includes:
- About 5 minutes to crush the cookies
- Close to 1 minute to mix the drink
- Around 5 minutes cover the rim with frosting and roll in crushed cookies
- 3 minutes to pour the drink into each shot glass
HOW DO I STORE LEFTOVER THIN MINT SHOOTERS?
You can store leftover Thin Mint Shooters in your refrigerator for up to 5 days.
CAN I USE PEPPERMINT EXTRACT INSTEAD OF PEPPERMINT SCHNAPPS?
Yes, you can use some peppermint extract instead of Peppermint Schnapps to make this shot recipe.
I haven’t tried it so I don’t know how much peppermint extract to use.
I suggest replacing the Peppermint Schnapps with more Chocolate Liquor and then adding in a drop of peppermint extract and tasting it, then adding more extract until it is minty enough.
CAN I MAKE THIN MINT SHOOTERS AHEAD OF TIME?
Yes, you can easily make Thin Mint Shooters the day before serving.
Simply mix together the drink and set it aside in the refrigerator and prepare the shot glasses with the frosting and Oreos and also keep those stored in the refrigerator in an airtight container.
I suggest waiting until just before you are going to serve to pour the mixed drink into each shot glass.
WHAT IS THE BEST CHOCOLATE LIQUEUR?
I don’t know what brand is the best chocolate liqueur because there are so many to pick from and it depends on personal preference.
These chocolate liqueur’s are known to be very popular: Tempus Fugit Crème De Cacao, Patrón XO Cafe Dark Cocoa, Dorda Double Chocolate Liqueur, Bottega Nero Cioccolato Gianduia, and Godiva Dark Chocolate Liqueur.
Each one is a little bit more than just chocolate. Have fun experimenting to find your favorite chocolate liqueur.
WHAT GOES WELL WITH THIN MINT SHOOTERS?
Thin Mint Shooters go well with a wide variety of party snacks and drinks. These recipes would be great to serve together.
Some of my personal favorites include:
- Sugar Cookie Hot Cocoa Bombs
- Caramel Apple Dip
- TikTok Viral Feta Pasta
- Chocolate Lasagna
- Chocolate Mint KitKat Cheesecake
CAN I USE A DIFFERENT COOKIE INSTEAD OF THE OREO COOKIES?
Yes, you can use any minty tasting cookie, chocolate bar, candy, etc in this recipe instead of the Oreos.
The steps will be pretty much the same.
The Fudge Covered Oreo Mint Mini’s are only a suggestion and you can customize this recipe using any snack that is minty or leave the rim of the shot glass plain.
WHAT ELSE CAN I ADD TO THIS THIN MINT SHOOTERS RECIPE?
This tasty Thin Mint Shooters recipe not only tastes great, but it’s also incredibly versatile.
Try adding a Thin Mint to each shot glass. You can lay the Thin Mint over the shot glass. YUM!
