A few weeks ago my family and I visited Sandestin Golf and Beach Resort located on Northwest Florida’s Gulf Coast. Sandestin is a 2,400-acre destination resort and is open for all seasons. This was the first time we ever traveled during Thanksgiving week, but I just wanted to spend it with my family away from home, and it turned out to be wonderful! We spent 4 days and three nights in a 2-bedroom condo in the Beachside Towers I building within the resort. The view was stunning!
Guests can choose from nearly 1,300 available rooms in condos or villas that are beachside, bayside, lakeside, or in the village area. With beaches, golfing, a pool, a day spa, entertainment, nightlife, shopping, and restaurants, there is a lot to do and see for people of all ages. There are 30 neighborhoods, 15 world-class tennis courts, 19 swimming pools, a marina, children’s programs, fitness center and spa, and much more. Sandestin includes more than 7 miles of beaches, as well as pristine bay front. Let me not forget to mention one of our favorite spots, The Village of Baytowne Wharf, a unique pedestrian village with a host of boutique shops, casual and fine dining restaurants and nightlife venues.
The one thing we really enjoyed was the beach! The sand is so white and the water was such a pretty color of Emerald. The condo we stayed in was on the 11th floor and the view it gave us was stunning. The condo had 2 bedrooms, full kitchen, 2 separate sowers, washer and dryer plus a huge master bedroom closet will provide space and fit the needs of many families.
Having a well-stocked, full kitchen is a huge bonus for many families. I cooked all our meals while we were there, it saved us a ton of money that we used to do some shopping while we were there. If you have an active family or would just want to unwind for several days you should visit Sandestin Golf And Beach Resort. What I enjoyed is that once you arrive in Sandestin there is a list of complimentary amenities that your family can enjoy at no added cost.
As for the grounds of the resort and things to do; the grounds were very neatly kept as you would expect with any golf community. I do not personally play golf, but the course looked very well laid out and well manicured. The resort itself has created almost as small town on property, it was a cozy, family atmosphere.
Sandestin also offers 72 holes of golf on four championship courses. Additional recreational activities include: beach volleyball, hiking, bicycling, canoeing, catch-release lake fishing, wave runner rentals, pontoon boat rentals, sailing instruction, sailboat rentals, sailing charters, sunset cruises, and Solaris dinner cruises. So many wonderful things to do, you will never be bored.

Now the one thing we enjoyed was the Village of Baytowne Wharf. Known as the “heart and soul” of Sandestin, the Village is composed of more than a dozen restaurants, 15 retail shops and several nightlife venues, as well as, a gathering place for a variety of fun events like the free Wednesday Night Concert Series and let me not to forget a miniature ice rink! The Village of Baytowne Wharf also offers the Baytowne Adventure Zone where you can enjoy a Zip line experience across the lagoon, the Sky Trail Ropes Course, an exciting Tower Climb, or the Euro Bungy. So many fabulous, fun ways to get active and enjoy your family time together.
Even though the weather was a bit cooler, we still lounged by the heated pool and went swimming and when we wanted to relax a little we went into the heated whirlpool. We are already planning to come back in the spring, there was just so much that we wanted to do and didn’t get the chance.
